Terms of sale
What we're selling
Live honey bee colonies (5-frame nucs) and mated queens, raised in our apiary in Deer Park, Washington. All sales are local pickup only; we do not ship live bees.
Reservations and payment
Reservations are confirmed when payment is received via our website. Nuc reservations require a $50 deposit per nuc, non-refundable unless we're unable to deliver your nuc; the balance is due at pickup, cash or card. Queens are paid in full when you order.
Pickup
Pickup is by appointment at the location and window shown on your order confirmation. If you cannot make your scheduled pickup, contact us at least 14 days in advance to reschedule into another available window if possible.
What we promise
Each nuc leaves us with a laying queen, drawn comb, brood across multiple stages, and food stores as described on the product page. Queens leave only after we confirm a solid laying pattern. If you receive a colony from us with a non-laying queen, contact us within 7 days of pickup with a photo and we'll replace the queen at no charge, subject to availability. If a replacement queen isn't available that late in the season, we'll refund the queen-cost portion of the order. This first-inspection guarantee is your sole remedy for queen failure.
What we don't promise
Live bees are biological. Once you take possession, weather, equipment, location, and management decisions are out of our hands. We do not warrant survival, productivity, or temperament beyond pickup. We will always answer a question and we will always look at a photo.
In legal terms: Except for the first-inspection queen guarantee above, all bees are sold "as is." We disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
Our maximum liability for any order is the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages of any kind — including lost honey production, equipment costs, replacement bees from other suppliers, or any other claim arising from your purchase or your bees' performance after pickup. The first-inspection queen replacement above is your sole remedy for a non-laying queen received from us.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with your order confirmation, constitute the complete agreement between us regarding your purchase. Verbal statements at pickup or in conversation don't override what's written here.
Modifications
We may update these terms periodically. Updates apply to new orders placed after the change, not retroactively to orders already placed.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
